Nature of FPB Private Tours Madeira

FPB Private Tours Madeira is a shared commercial brand used by duly licensed independent operators for the provision of their respective services. It is not a separate company or autonomous taxi operator. The website presents services and receives and organises initial requests.

Each confirmed service is assigned to an independent operator. Assignment may reflect availability, group size, language, accessibility and the nature of the service. The responsible operator is identified during confirmation and the entity that actually provides the service issues the invoice or receipt.

Services and availability requests

Services may include private tours, custom experiences, sunrise and sunset experiences, private transfers, airport or port transfers, Hiking & Levada Transfers and other services presented on the website.

A Request Availability submission is not an instant booking, and selecting a date does not guarantee availability. Requests are checked manually. FPB aims to reply within 24 hours, but this is a service objective rather than an absolute guarantee. Unless stated otherwise, confirmed availability may be held for up to 48 hours while payment of the deposit is awaited.

Formation of the booking

A booking is formed only after availability is confirmed, the applicable conditions are communicated, the required deposit is received and booking confirmation is sent to the customer.

Prices and payment

Unless expressly stated otherwise, prices are per private vehicle, not per person. “From” prices are indicative; the specific price communicated for a request prevails where applicable. Prices include VAT where legally applicable according to the responsible operator’s tax obligations.

A 20% deposit is paid by bank transfer to confirm the booking. Bank details are sent only after availability has been confirmed. The remaining 80% is paid to the operator providing the service on the day, by cash or card. Extra time costs €30 per additional hour, per vehicle, is always subject to operational availability, and may also be paid by bank transfer when agreed.

Drivers, vehicles and capacity

Customers do not automatically choose a driver or vehicle. Assignment depends on availability, group size, capacity, language, accessibility and the characteristics of the service. Capacity is up to 7 passengers where the vehicle configuration permits. Capacity may differ when the vehicle is configured for wheelchair transport.

Children and accessibility

Children and babies may participate. Free ISOFIX child seats are available on advance request and are currently available for children from approximately six months. The child’s age should be provided.

The adapted Mercedes-Benz V250 2026 has a ramp and can transport a passenger seated in their own wheelchair. It must be requested in advance and remains subject to availability. Capacity in the adapted configuration may differ. Accessibility of every attraction or location cannot be guaranteed.

Tour duration and itinerary

Published duration includes driving, stops and time used for activities or visits. Routes may require reasonable adaptation because of weather, traffic, closures, official restrictions, accessibility or unforeseen circumstances. Tickets and third-party services are not included unless expressly stated, and time used for optional activities forms part of the tour duration. Liability for independently managed third-party attractions is limited only to the extent permitted by law.

Included and not included

Standard tours include a private vehicle, professional local driver, fuel, parking, pickup and drop-off under the published policy, and an appropriate available child seat requested in advance.

Meals, drinks, bottled water, entrance tickets, cable cars, activities, personal expenses and third-party services are not included unless expressly stated.

Pickup, drop-off and airport transfers

For standard tours, pickup and drop-off are included within the Funchal area and Funchal Cruise Port. Other locations are available on request, subject to availability and an agreed additional price. A different drop-off may be possible when agreed in advance and compatible with the route.

Madeira Airport to Funchal is offered from €50 per private vehicle. Other destinations are available on request, subject to availability and an agreed price. Flight details may be required when relevant.

Custom tours and hiking transfers

For custom tours, itinerary and price are agreed before confirmation; no fixed minimum duration is stated. Hiking & Levada Transfers are transport-only services, not guided hikes. Customers remain responsible for their own preparation, clothing, footwear, equipment, food and water where required, and for following official safety information. Available official closure and restriction information is consulted for transport planning.

Weather, delays and cancellations

Natural conditions, mountain visibility, sunrise and sunset cannot be guaranteed. The standard pickup tolerance is 15 minutes; customer delay may reduce the useful service time or require an itinerary change. Cancellation and date-change rules are set out in the Cancellation Policy.

Customer responsibilities and safety

Customers must provide accurate contact information, date and time, passenger numbers, children’s ages, pickup details, flight information and practical accessibility requirements. It is neither necessary nor recommended to provide medical diagnoses or detailed clinical information when requesting transport adaptations.

A service may be refused or interrupted proportionately where conduct is illegal, violent, threatening or dangerous. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

Reviews, privacy and complaints

Reviews are voluntary and moderated. A customer must have the right to share submitted photographs. FPB will not edit a customer’s opinion in a way that changes its meaning. Personal data and website technologies are described in the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
